How to Use Foxflash and GODIAG GT100 to Correctly Read and Write BMW EDC16C1?

One customer wanted to use Foxflash ECU programmer to read/write BMW EDC16C1 ECU. He followed the pinout in the software instruction to connect ecu on bench, and received the prompt “turn off dashboard off and back on, then wait for 10 seconds before continuing”.

For this problem, godiagshop.com engineer analyzes the reason and gives three methods.

The possible cause:

Maybe a different HW version. Pinout on FoxFlash could work for other C1 versions but not for this one.

The suggestion:

Method 1: Check the connection and power supply

Pinout (K-Line):

*Watch white cable because there is also a white/red cable in package.

Method 2: Try Pinout (with CAN-Line)

PIN1&7 — 12V

PIN2 — GND

PIN8 — Kline

PIN46 — Can-H

PIN33 — Can-L

Connect it on Bench Mode.

Method 3: Remove the Bench Box, and try via OBD. Connect foxflash ECU Chip Tuning Tool with GODIAG GT100 OBD2 Breakout Box and an extra power supply.

Customer’s feedback:

Use the godiag gt100 to connect, it’s successful.
